Home Again

We got home today about 12:30.  We are almost done getting the stuff out of the motorhome and now I'll have to put it away.  I can't wait to see the grandkids.  But that will have to wait until tomorrow.  Erv has to get the battery charged up on the truck to get it out of the garage so he can get the washer plugged in for me.  I need to wash clothes again, and I don't want to go to a launromat again.
This is the last post until we go on another trip next year.  Hope you enjoyed it this year.

Niagra Falls

The first day we were in Niagra we took a bus tour of the area.  This is the front of a church that once was where monks were living.  The last of them have retired about five years ago.
The Stations of the Cross are in stained glass.

And they are also carved in oak.

This is the reliquary of Ste. Teresa of the Roses.

This is our first view of the falls.

We rode to Niagra on the Lake.  This is The prince of Wales Hotel from 1834.

Looking down the main drag of the village.

We ate lunch here at the Angel Inn.  It looks like a British pub.  The fish and chips were authentic as was the cuppa'.

We visited a winery.  I bought some sparkling wine.  Yum

Then we visited a chocolate factory.  I was in heaven.

Then we went to Lock #2 (of 8) and watch a ship come in and get raised up to climb the 350 feet to Lake Ontario.

It's almost in now.

They are closing the gates.

And there she is up.  It took about 15 minutes.

The next day went back into the town and first we went to the Butteryfly House.

Butteryflies were everywhere.

One like this landed on my head.  No picture though.  We weren't fast enough.

These are blue ones at rest.

Look at all of them at a feeding table.

This one landed on your dad's shoulder and stayed there long enough for me to snap one.

The "house" was tropical and hot.

We were all dressed up to ride the Maid of the Mist.  We got very wet anyway.

The Canadian side of the falls. I think it's the prettiest.

The American side.

See the mist we go into.

Later in the day we went to that place on the side of the cliff.  We were up top on the cliff and took an elevator down to this walk way.

More beauty.

See how wet the camera was.

The falls from up top.

That is the falls from behind the water.  It is very loud down there.  And we got to wear yellow ponchos down there.  But we were much drier.

The Gift Shop.  We were exited through a gift shop at every venue.  There's a buck to be made here.  And most of the stuff was made in China.  Go figure.

That's the sign we could see from the boat.  My pictures aren't in order again.  lol

We ate lunch in this place.  it's called the Element. The food was good, but the view was amazing.

Walking back to the bus stop we saw a rainbow by the falls.

This is the White Water Walk down on the Niagra River

Looks like some people might really want to take these rapids when the weather is warmer.

We walked along this boardwalk for about a 1000 yards after we took another elevator down about three stories.

This is the last thing we saw before we went back to the campground.  The clock is all flowers. And they change out the flowers seasonaly.

Well that is our trip.  We had a good time , and glad we did it.  We should be home about November 3. The weather has been strange the last two or three weeks.  It's been rainy or very cold.  We've used a lot of LP gas.  We've had to fill up twice in the last month.  We're in Kentucky for the next three days.  We drove about 250 miles today and will drive about 150 tomorrow.  Then your dad will rest for a day before we head out again.  Well bye for now.  Will see you soon.  Love, Mom and Dad

Cooperstown, Corning, and Bath, NY

This is Ted Williams bat at the Hall of Fame.

There is a hall of pictures of ball players getting there plaques.  The is Tony Gwenn's

The Plaque.

Ozzie Smith

A view from our campsite in Cooperstown.

The other direction.

The next day we drove to Corning, NY.  We all parked our rigs in the parking lot.  And went inside.

Here is a Dale Chahuli from Wash.

David and Susan,  our newest friends.  They are from Austin, Texas.  He's a lawyer.

Closest to the camera is Kathy, she is from Ont. Canada.  The other two are Terry and Bob Hayes, from Walnut Creek. They even know JoAnn and Matt.

Bev and Ira friends from Alaska and the Misssissippi in front and Marie and Fred, our tail gunners with Ernie and Sheila.

Behind your dad is Cyndy and John from Onterio, Canada.  Beside your dad is Carl and Sandy Wenger from Maryland.  They were on the trip with us last year as well.

This is the gaffer, the glass blower, and his assistant.  We watched a demo.

This is a 100 lb. paper weight.  It completes a 1000 collection of normal sized paperweights.

The view from our windscreen in the campground in Bath.

While in Bath we visited the Curtis Museum.  He is said to be the father of the Naval airforce.  This is a camper he also designed in the 1910's.  Look it has a toilet.

One of his aircrafts.

This is a plane from Curtis that had  been in a swamp in Florida for decades.  The volunteers are going to restore it.  Good luck guys.

Your dad says he wants a car like this one for his 70th.  Yeah right...

We went on a lunch cruise on one of the Finger Lakes.  This lake is about 25 miles long.

Guess who?

And her?  I didn't get ready and smile.

We were packed in there like sardines.

But look what we could see.

The colors were at their peak up there.

This is topside.

It reminded me of a patchwork quilt.

People have summer homes all along the lake.

Dad and Joe another new friend.

From up top.  That's Mary and Fred and our wagonmaster, Ken.

We are on our way back to port.

We had a really good time in New York state.  People were friendly and made us feel welcome.  I've got pictures from Niagra Falls, but I'll send them another time.  We have to get ready to get back on the road in the morning.  Tomorrow is Canton, Ohio and the next day is near Huntington, WV.  See you all soon.
